One of Timothy Oulton's most celebrated designs, the Mars Chair transports elements of Art Deco to the future of furniture design. Retaining a 1930s proportion, the chair is updated through its unlikely combination of hand-moulded polished steel curves with distressed, vintage leathers. The Mars MK3 stays true to the original award-winning Mars design and improves upon it with enhanced comfort and a sleeker silhouette. The arms are contoured with precision screws for visual interest.

The original inspiration for Mars was to create a chair that was modern in shape and ideology but also reflected on vintage aspects through the distressed leather. A testament to exceptional craftsmanship, the Mars MK3 is created over several time-intensive steps, with the stainless steel polished for around 3 hours to achieve its high shine.

Inspired by equestrian saddles and riding boots, this is full aniline oil pull-up leather that is very soft and slightly oily to the touch. It looks slightly worn and develops a beautiful sheen over time.
