There may be several different reasons why you are not getting as many applicants as you might have hoped. Here are some tips:
– Have you added all relevant keywords so that you appear in searches?
A lot of candidates search for jobs by using keywords. The keyword "CEO" is often used for a wide range of managerial positions. If you've used for example "Bedriftsdirektør" or "Direktør" instead, your ad won't appear in "CEO" search results.
Many positions have different roles in play at once, so make sure you include synonyms and other titles that might apply.

– Are you recruiting for a "hard-to-hire" position?
Some positions are more difficult to fill than others. Typical "hard-to-hire" roles may include engineers, technologists, craftsmen, doctors or other specialists. These candidates are often in high demand, as well as not actively looking for a new job.
Tip: Use Effekt from FINN Job! Our effekt products will display your ad on sites like VG, Aftenposten and Facebook and will only target relevant candidates who have seen similar ads on FINN in the past year, but have not yet seen your ad. This way you can reach passive candidates, as well as those who aren't on FINN when your ad is posted.

– Lastly, the ad itself might be the issue - wording, locations, pictures, clarity, job description, titles and more. Our experts have gathered their top tips and recommendations on how to make a great job ad. Read it here (in Norwegian)!
