Applications Engineer

As an Application Engineer you will become an expert on using Microchip’s 8-bit Microcontrollers and toolchain for AVR and PIC. You will support and train Microchip’s customers, develop embedded software, design hardware, write application notes and help launch new microcontroller products to market.

In your role, you will:
• Write application notes that describe concepts and usage of Microchip’s technology into end user applications.
• Develop embedded software and hardware that demonstrates Microchip products functionality, performance, competitive advantage, and ease of use.
• Support customers by solving their problems.
• Visit customers around the world for doing on-site critical support or provide training on Microchip products.
• Develop training material and provide classroom lectures for other Microchip employees or customers.
• Contribute to define features and specifications for Microchip next generation of devices.
• Contribute to develop internal systems and solutions that support our work towards making it easy for our customers.
• Review work done by your colleagues.
 
Required skills and experience
 
• B.Sc, M.Sc in Electronics, Cybernetics, Computer Science or similar
• 0-5 years of experience
• Programming skills in C/C++
• Practical lab experience – oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc
• Fluent in English – written and oral
• Previous work experience is desired, but not required
