Head of Cards & Payment is responsible for defining and commercializing the banks payment strategy for the Nordics. This includes mobile & card payments, digital ID solutions, PSD2 & Account-to-Account technologies and value enhancing services.
You are responsible for ensuring Santander achieves its key performances indicators within mobile payments & e-commerce through competitive value propositions, extensive distribution and “top-of-mobile-wallet” rankings for our core segments within external payment solutions such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, VIPPS, Swish and equivalent solutions in the Nordic market.
Based on in-depth customer insights, head of cards and payments, ensures strong customer journeys and a “simplification” mindset making services as easy-to-use and intuitive as possible for the customers.
To be successful you actively monitor customer, technology, regulatory and competitor trends and translate into appropriate actions where needed. Build clear strategies and roadmaps that can be used as a foundation for successful execution and provide guidance for the business.
Head of cards and payments leads the local product managers through a dynamic and collaborative approach, continuously prioritizing based on both the capacity and capability of the team, supporting functions, and external resources.
Ensure services are built to the appropriate level of quality by actively taking opportunities to involve customers and partners, as well as other external partners in the value creation process.
The head of cards and payments manages the product and product portfolio profitability and has profit- and loss accountability.
As the leader, you develop and support your team, building development plans at individual and team level, to ensure high job satisfaction and performance. Actively collaborate & ensure strong communications with both internal and external stakeholders. You communicate the vision for assigned product portfolio to all stakeholders within the company. The main point of contacts internally are commercial, risk, IT, financial control as well as interacting with Santander HQ in Madrid.
Travelling is required to build and maintain a common Nordic culture, mind-set and alignment.
What you'll need to be successful
You have minimum 7-8 years of proven and successful experience in a senior commercial role, preferably within product management, sales, strategy, planning and execution. We think you possess a Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Marketing, or equivalent level of education. This position requires strong leadership and remote management skills. You have industry experience and experience from working in international organisations. Technically, you are well-versed and previous experience from working in close cooperation with both agile development and UX teams are important. You possess extensive market and business model knowledge for the relevant products, including portfolio dynamics and pricing.
As a person, you are result-oriented with a strong sense of commitment and commercial mind-set and a strong communicator, negotiator and presenter. You are structured with an analytical and data-driven mind-set and a strong problem-solver were you are able to see opportunities and solutions. Proactivity and working independently comes natural to you. You are curious, passionate and able to energize and motivate people around you. You are striving for customer focus and excellence in every dimension. **
