As our new Naval Architect, you can be part of the next level on this ground-breaking journey, with a position with the power to influence the company and the industry.
The right individual will be a key player and integral part of the technical/project group of the company, working both on already awarded projects and to develop the Ocean Sun concept further. You will be involved in all phases of our projects - from tendering, mooring system design, hydrodynamic analyses and installation of the system. The position will report to the COO.
Main tasks:
- Be an integral part of the technical/ project group of the company.
- Conduct hydrodynamic modelling and mooring analysis for a variety of projects in response to tenders and work requests.
- Review and approve engineering analyses and deliverables to ensure quality.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in industry codes and standards on mooring systems design.
- Provide technical advice in response to queries related to mooring systems design.
- Interface with clients, vendors and third-party contractors as required at client meetings, inspections, tests etc.
- Undertake quality assurance activities and lead efforts to improving the existing system.
- Degree in Naval Architecture/Subsea Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ strongly analytical experience in hydrodynamics and naval architecture.
- Extensive experience with hydrodynamic modelling and analysis in software such as Orcaflex, Aquasim or similar
- A good understanding of marine operations, primarily related to mooring systems installation.
- In depth knowledge of industry codes and standards on mooring systems design.
- Confident in creating and reviewing models for moorings/subsea installation.
- Prior experience with structural/ fatigue analyses is an advantage, but this is not essential.
- Ideally project management experience including tendering, scheduling & creating deliverables, but this can be developed.
- Proficient in English, both written and orally.
- Fluency in Norwegian is not a requirement.
