Targovax is seeking an accomplished Senior Scientist/ VP Research

Targovax is currently seeking an accomplished Senior Scientist/ VP Research to join the R&D Department of Targovax and drive the company’s preclinical research programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the company´s pre-clinical experimental research strategy
• Plan and manage execution of pre-clinical experiments
• Analyze, synthesize, and present preclinical and clinical data sets in written and visual form
• Lead preparation of non-clinical sections of Regulatory documents (IND, CTA, Briefing materials)
• Manage contacts with external partners, CROs, academic collaborators
• Attend partner meetings and give scientific presentations
• Collaborate with other departments, particularly clinical and business development

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following education and experience:

• PhD in molecular biology, ideally immunology or cancer biology
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience of working on research or translational projects in oncology/immuno-oncology/biologics. Candidates with experience of working at small or mid-size biotech companies are preferred
• Demonstrated ability to set up, coordinate and execute complex research projects, including in vitro and in vivo experiments in the field of oncology
• Up to date knowledge of and experience in relevant immunological, molecular and cell biology experimental techniques, as well as in vivo models
• Experience in working with viruses would be an advantage
• Solid publication record, preferably in immuno-oncology
• Experience of interactions and work-package planning with pre-clinical CROs
• Knowledge of ICH-GCP
• Experience from interactions with Regulatory Agencies 
• Ability to work independently and drive teamwork
• Ability to succinctly present data in written and visual format, including giving oral presentations
• Fluent written and spoken English

Ideally the Senior Scientist/VP Research should be based in Stockholm, Oslo or Helsinki, but other locations may be accommodated for the right candidate. Frequent travel to Oslo and Helsinki will be required.
