Join our Clinical trial teams, and be responsible for sample management
Our growing Vaccibody team is now looking for a Clinical Specimens Coordinator who will act in a supportive role to the trial management team in Clinical Operations by being responsible for logistics, management, coordination and tracking of blood samples retrieved in Vaccibody’s clinical trials.
About the role
The clinical Specimens Coordinator will be a member of clinical trial teams and is responsible for sample management in close collaboration with Bioanalytical Science, Clinical Trial Manager and external vendors/central/local labs. The coordinator will ensure alignment of input to and overseeing the development of clinical trial lab manuals, set up of central labs, courier agreements for transportation of samples and oversight of the bioanalytical vendors.
The responsibilities of the position include:
- Tracking and logistical planning of biological samples in clinical trials
- Coordinate shipments of biological samples collected in clinical trials in collaboration with CRO, clinical trial sites, laboratories and Vaccibody
- Act as Point of Contact for logistical matters related to sample management (internal and external)
- Ensure proper and required packaging and documentation for sample management is in compliance with internal SOPs, scientific and regulatory requirements
- Manage vendor contracts with courier (Vaccibody preferred vendor)
- Ensure optimal shipping conditions for biological samples (packaging, temperature and tracking) in clinical trials
- Prepare clear instructions for sample collection, storage, packaging and shipment to be included in clinical trial Lab manuals
- Support optimization of current processes and/or introduction of new or modified processes with regards to sample management
- Oversight of central laboratory and courier services
- Be a member of clinical trial teams
Key qualifications
- Degree in health science, engineering, nursing, pharmacy or similar
- Minimums 3 years of hands-on lab experience/Minimum three years of professional experience in a similar role in a pharma company or biotech
- GCP/GCLP experience and knowledge is preferred
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is preferred
- Experienced user of Office 365 (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communicator both in written and verbal form
- English fluency is required
