BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / COMMERCIAL STAFF, location South Korea
Techconsult is the link between jobs and professionals. For one of our customer we are now looking for a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / COMMERCIAL STAFF
Job responsibilities:
- Business development manager for the origination and execution of offshore wind projects in South Korea. Based in either Busan or Seoul, with frequent travel to project locations and to meet with key stakeholders. Reporting to Head of Business Development, South Korea.
- Pursue offshore wind business development opportunities in South Korea.
- Mature business opportunities as project lead and/or commercial lead.
- As project lead, manage and drive the project team to ensure high-quality deliveries in close cooperation with other units.
- Develop and negotiate partnership and transaction agreements.
- Participate in establishing and implementing the business development strategy and roadmap(s), including the business development funnel for South Korea.
- Secure appropriate engagement and alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent Company in a variety of contexts, including key interface with partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Map and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in close cooperation with the wider business development team and other business units; including government departments, local authorities, local communities, developers, partners, suppliers, utilities, investment banks, and other advisers.
- Collect, analyse, and present relevant market intelligence.
- Contribute to the development and operation of a high performing business development unit.
- Key link to project owner(s) and senior management, identifying and highlighting key issues and preparing for internal decision gates
Your qualifications:

- Relevant experience in early phase business development / deal transaction / finance / market analysis / technical understanding is preferred. Insight and exposure to the power sector, particularly the offshore wind sector, is desired. Management consulting / investment banking experience is also beneficial.
- Deal/partnership structuring and negotiation experience and skills, including partnership agreements and M&A transactions.
- Solid understanding of value drivers in the offshore wind industry and of what it takes to succeed in a competitive context.
- Extensive project management experience, preferably within business development.
- Experience with preparation and delivery of decision basis at senior management level.
- Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and can-do attitude on all tasks and deliverables.
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to be proactive, take the initiative, and show creative thinking towards problem solving.
- High integrity, trust builder, with strong networking skills.
- A leader who collaborates effectively in a multi-discipline environment, with ability to energize and drive project teams.
- Able to deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience with working in an international business environment.
- Ability to bridge between international and local business cultures.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder landscapes including authorities, Joint Venture partners, local residents and fishermen, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Network of contacts and relationships with key stakeholders within the energy industry and related sectors.
