We are looking for an Instrument & Automation Engineer!
For Schlumberger Process Systems we are looking to strengthen our team within Engineering and process systems. You will be part of a dedicated and experienced team designing, executing and delivering process solutions and hardware to the oil and gas industry.
You will be part of our E&I Engineering team and will take part of the execution phase towards internal and external clients and have the chance to participate in developing the future products for various fluid systems. Cameron Systems AS deliver solutions for the oil and gas industry both topside and subsea.

Job description:
Specify instrumentation, valves, electrical and control systems required to operate “oil field” process equipment per client specifications, industry standards and guidelines. Be part of E&I engineering team in Porsgrunn.
Main responsibilities:
• Evaluate customer specifications to determine the best design for the application.
• Review customer specifications to match specifications or clearly define differences.
• Provide cost estimates for instrumentation, valves, specialty items, spare parts, field instrument and hookup and control system for proposals within the scope of supply and client specifications.
• Responsible for follow-up of project instrumentation deliveries regards to progress, clarifications and documentation submission
• Review P&ID’s to confirm correct instrumentation symbol and control scheme, confirm sizes for control valve, relief valve, flow element and mounting nozzles for instrumentation
• Assist in developing P&IDs to ensure compliance with client specifications, and/or Cameron standard piping specifications.
• Recommend, specify and prepare requisition for inquiry and purchase of instrumentation, valves, and other piping components like spec blinds, bleed rings. Train team members to perform the same duty.
• Perform control valve sizing, relief valve sizing, flow element sizing. Train team members to perform these sizing.
• Participate in client or internal HAZOP.
• Provide installation instructions and dimensional drawings during vessel/piping design, and fabrication phases.
• Assist in providing hookup details to I&E contractor for installation of instrumentations.
• Review vendor drawings, hookup, calculation and other technical documentation related to instrumentations.
• Assist in developing and coaching younger engineers in the team.
• Perform final inspection for instrumentation and valves.
Preferred background:
• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in and/or Instrumentation & Automation-, Process Automation- or Electrical- Engineering or equivalent relevant degree.
• Experience in specification and selection of instrumentation and valves for the Oil and Gas Industry is preferred, but graduates will be considered for this position.
• Preferred experience in all level instrumentation types and their applications.
• Ability to review P&IDs for complex process equipment’s.
• Ability to work cooperatively with various company departments associated with designing, estimating, fabricating, operating, and selling this equipment.
• Fluent English and Norwegian language oral and written.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, organized and confident.
• Good computer knowledge.

• Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills and the ability to apply aspects of the engineering and quality assurance concepts to solve practical problems.
• Positive team member that values the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in designing, engineering, testing and delivering complex process packages to the oil and gas industry.
• Open to learn and develop own technical skills to contribute to a multidiscipline engineering environment.
