Our complex systems need your experience with SW-development and architecture

We develop and deploy software running on Q-Free’s installations around the world. As Solutions Architect in our Tolling Systems group you will be responsible for a reusable baseline solution-architecture, which also enables customization for specific customer deliveries.

You will be part of a strong team delivering efficient future solutions for Low Emission Zone enforcement and electronic Road User Charging. We build our high-performance and high-availability systems on a mixed set of technologies with both Q-Free and Third-Party products and work closely with our world-leading R&D department.

In Q-Free, the Solution Architects work cross-functionally in close collaboration with Solution Owners, Business Development and Development Project Management to ensure that the solution architecture meets business needs for our organization and the customer alike. In this role you also get to influence development processes by choosing the right technology and tools in order to reach Q-Free’s high expectations towards delivery, quality, and security.

Key responsibilities as Solution Architect

• Design, development, and verification of baseline solution architecture
• Developing specifications for integration interfaces between internal subsystems, in collaboration with subsystem product owners
• Ownership of the overall architectural documentation e.g., descriptions, instructions, and policies, including content needed for sales and system delivery
• Provide support to the Tolling System sales teams globally through technical requirement- and risk analysis, identifying adaptations, and reviewing related content for tender/RFI responses.
• Supporting system engineers in the product- and system development process
• Market intelligence analysis with global and regional sales teams, and business development
• Compile, own and present solution architecture roadmap

What are your key qualifications?

We believe you have a broad experience in solution architecture within IT/OT infrastructure and operations. Genuine interest and good understanding of technology is highly valued. You have great communication and cooperation skills, and enjoy seeking solutions in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
We believe it is beneficial if you have formal education on Bachelor or Master level within IT, SW development or similar areas. You should have at least five years of experience, but we do encourage ambitious candidates with relevant background to apply.

Our working language is English and we require that you have strong oral and written skills in both English and a Scandinavian language. Other language skills (e.g., French, Spanish) are also valuable.

It is beneficial if you have experience within some of the following areas

• Heterogeneous computing environments - Linux, Windows, RTOS
• DevSecOps or build automation
• Test automation
• Deployment, configuration, and operation of Active Directory, RabbitMQ,
• PostgreSQL, NetXMS, Puppet and ElasticSearch.
• Software development in Java (8 and later), C++, and scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl)
• Complex systems where numerous software and hardware components work tightly together
• System delivery projects for external customers
