In addition to being a vital facilitator of Norway’s aviation infrastructure, we conduct leading research and development in several areas of our expertise. We operate 43 state-owned airports from the south of Norway to the North. Twelve of the airports are operated in cooperation with the Norwegian Armed Forces. In addition, Avinor operates and controls technical infrastructure, traffic control & navigation.

Avinor is now looking for a new route development manager, who will play an important role in developing air traffic to and from our airports. In Avinor, you will be part of an ambitious company with skilled and dedicated colleagues.

About the role:

As a route development manager, you will be the link between airlines, tourism authorities, relevant businesses, stakeholders and Avinor. Your task will be to support and develop the investment in air capacity among existing and new airline customers, at our airports. You will be part of ensuring the fulfillment of the strategic targets and social mission of Avinor. In the role as a route developer, we will encourage you to build strong relations within the airline industry and bring forward new innovative ideas that could strengthen the position of Avinor within route development.

As a route developer at Avinor, you will be given a specific airline portfolio and be a part of the Avinor route development key account team, and hold an overall overview of, and coordinate the relationship between, Avinor and your airline portfolio.

Key tasks:

• Customer follow-up internally in Avinor
• Actively promote and present route opportunities from our Avinor airports
• Maintain and develop existing customers
• Build and strengthen the brand recognition of Avinor
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders within business and tourism
• Support internal processes supporting route development within Avinor
• Represent Avinor at conferences and HQ-meetings

Qualifications: 

• University or college education, preferably in economics/marketing. (Other education, combined with relevant experience, can compensate)
• Experience from business development/sales
• Documented experience and achievement of results delivered from previous jobs
• Being fluent in English
• Experience from international business
• The ability to present and understand a variety of topics
• Stakeholder management
• Analytical and strategic understanding

Knowledge in these areas are also useful in this role:

• Knowledge of Avinor and its role in aviation
• Understanding of and interest in the airline industry and its operations

Personal characteristics

As a person, you are independent and good at taking initiatives. You are business-oriented and result orientated. As a route developer you will be in contact with a wide range of people across many different cultures. We are therefore looking for a colleague who enjoys working across cultures, understand people and who are good at building strong external relations. A listener who are also good at listening and understanding our customers' needs. Extensive Travel activities must be expected.

Our Head office is in Bjørvika, but due to renovation at our head office, we will have temporary offices in Skøyen for a two-year period.
