Om arbeidsgiveren
Millions of tons of ammonia are lost from livestock farms every year. Lost ammonia means lost nutrients needed for growing crops and feeding the planet. Ammonia losses to the environment at this scale is not sustainable. The extensive use of fossil fuel-based nitrogen fertiliser is a key hurdle to sustainable agricultural practices.
N2 Applied is developing plasma technologies that fix reactive nitrogen from the atmosphere and react these with ammonia in manure. The reaction stops ammonia losses, increases the nitrogen content and provides a fertiliser with the essential nutrients to grow crops.
To accelerate, commercialise and scale our solution, we have entered a global strategic partnership with GEA (www.gea.com). GEA is now manufacturing machines ready for installation and in doing so, is a sizeable step in enabling dairy farmers as well as the dairy industry to reach their sustainability ambitions.
N2 Applied’s technology disrupts the fertilizer value chain, changing it from a linear to a circular model. We are actively looking to expand the application of our technology into waste management.
N2 Applied comprises an international team with focused and cross-disciplinary expertise covering physics, organic and inorganic chemistry, agronomy and engineering but also product development, sales and marketing and regulatory issues. The company’s head office in Oslo/Asker and operates it’s technology centre outside of Kongsberg in Svene (Norway), together with branches in Wageningen (Netherlands) and York/Edinburgh (UK).
