We are looking for a young, enthusiastic and passionate Optical Systems Engineer to play an important role in the development and evaluation of optical systems for our high quality optical gas and dust monitoring equipment for the industrial market. You will hold a key position and work closely with our highly skilled technology team with expertise in electronics, software, lasers, optics, mechanical design, etc. You will enjoy a challenging workday in an international environment with individual freedom and responsibility.

Tasks

• Design optical systems for new products and new configurations of our current and future product lines
• Evaluate and improve existing designs of our current product line
• A combination of design work using Zemax, optical simulations in MatLab and practical work in the laboratory
• Update and maintain existing product and customer designs
• Provide support to R&D projects as needed

Qualifications

• We are looking for a young person with competence in as many of the following areas as possible.
• MSc in Physics or equivalent subject  
• Good understanding of optics and optics design in Zemax
• Experience with CAD design is a plus but not essential
• Ability to take initiative, participate in projects and work with other departments to meet deadlines and communicate critical goals
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
• Positive, solution-oriented and thorough
