We are looking for a young, enthusiastic and passionate Product Engineer. The Product Engineer will be responsible for creating customer specific drawings and support documentation as well as participate in other relevant areas of product engineering and maintenance. The position is part of the Opto-Mechanics Department and reports to the Head of Opto-Mechanical Development. You will work closely with our highly skilled technology team with expertise in electronics, software, lasers, optics, mechanical design, etc. You will enjoy a challenging workday in an international environment with individual freedom and responsibility.
Tasks
- Create and maintain product drawings and assemblies for customer specific installations
- Support and complete engineering work on customer orders including calculations and technical documentation
- Update and maintain existing product and customer drawings
- Provide technical support for manufacturing, sales, marketing, quality and product planning
- Provide support to R&D projects as needed
- Design production equipment such as tools and fixtures
- Participate in CAD Product Data Management work and maintenance
Qualifications
We are looking for a young person with competence in as many of the following areas as possible.
- BSc or MSc degree or equivalent qualifications in mechanical engineering or mechatronics
- 2-5 years of experience in creating drawings and GD&T is highly preferred
- Previous experience in product engineering in a design and development environment is preferable
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal forming, casting, etc.
- Experience in or knowledge of Ex/ATEX/HazLoc products is desirable
- Knowledge of optics or optomechanical systems as well as basic electronics is preferable but not essential
- Knowledge of materials such as stainless alloys and optical materials is a plus
- Experience with CAD design is essential and experience with PDM systems is preferable
- Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus but not essential
- Ability to take initiative, participate in projects and work with other departments to meet deadlines and communicate critical goals
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
