Gard is looking for a Security Adviser to join our Security team in the Technology department. You will work with a wide range of modern security technologies, external partners and cloud security services and be a key resource in defining the company’s security architecture.

In Technology you will be a trusted team member, with flexibility in your day-to-day work and with continuous knowledge development as a key success factor. You will also have many development opportunities, using the latest security technologies from Microsoft and others.

The Technology Security team is responsible for cyber security in Gard. Together with the rest of the security organization we identify risks, select, and implement security controls and continuously improve our security capabilities.

The seniority level and degree of responsibility will be adjusted based on the successful candidate’s background and previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Gard’s projects and digital initiatives as security adviser or security architect.
• Together with the rest of the team continuously develop cyber security instructions, processes and guidelines in operations and development.
• Build effective relationships- and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in awareness training for the organization on cyber security.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, new cyber security technologies and regulatory changes related to cyber security and implement these.
• Drive improvement in security levels through the identification of risks and implementation of mitigating strategies
• Follow up on cyber security incidents together with our internal and external response teams.
• Management of cyber security mechanisms.
• Participate in other information security and improvement work that is part of the department's area of responsibility.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Personal qualities

• A cyber/information security mindset, able to assimilate and consider issues from the technical, process and business perspectives, supported by a pragmatic attitude to the implementation of security across a global company.

• Strong technical understanding and passion for cyber security.

• Team player, working with both internal teams and external partners.

• Very good interpersonal and collaborative skills; and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Independent, proactive, and structured – takes full ownership of responsibilities.

Ideal experience

• Practical technical security experience from, e.g., secure development processes, security architecture, penetration testing, security operations or incident response.

• Experience working with cyber security in cloud environments.

• Experience in developing and implementing security processes and technical controls.

• Hold a relevant degree in computer science or similar.

• Have excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
