Technical Lead
NORTH AMMONIA AS
- Frist 15.2.2024
Do you want to be the lead engineer in a company providing green fuels for the shipping industry?
Who are we?
North Ammonia has the ambition to become a leading Norwegian provider of green fuels to the maritime industry and will produce green hydrogen and ammonia based on renewable power from the Norwegian grid. The company was established as a joint venture by Grieg Maritime Group and Arendals Fossekompani in 2021. Our solid owners have a long history in the renewables and shipping industries, as well as bringing complementary competencies to the table.
Over the last two years, North Ammonia has established a strong foundation; a new CEO joined the company in October 2023, and we are now ready to strengthen our team further. We see very positive developments in the market for green ammonia, and we have established strong partnerships with several attractive customers.
We are progressing our project development efforts for our first project in Arendal, and we are getting ready to move into a FEED phase with the target to make a final investment decision in 2025.
Going forward, we are looking for a Technical Lead who will play a central role in driving this development forward.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Lead on Front End Engineering and Design including vendor selection and sourcing
- EPC and contract strategy
- Technical support to the project permitting process
- Cost estimation and planning
- Project management
- Technical support to sales contract negotiations, ammonia distribution and bunkering
- Support early phase origination and concept studies
Who are you?
We believe the right candidate is excited about joining a small and competent team and contributing with experience and capabilities to drive North Ammonia forward.
We believe you hold a master's degree in process, chemical engineering or similar. Additionally, you have at least 8 years of experience from similar roles either with EPC contractors, chemical plant operators and/or project developers. Preferably you have experience with hydrogen or ammonia facilities. To succeed in this role, we further believe you have held a leading role in pre-FEED/FEED work in relevant industries. We expect you to be fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages or English.
You will be part of a strongly driven team where passion and a can-do attitude are highly valued qualities.
What can we offer?
In North Ammonia you get an exciting opportunity to take part in a new and growing green industry and in the development of a new company. As North Ammonia continues to expand, we anticipate several exciting challenges and opportunities emerging for the ideal candidate. North Ammonia is sharing modern offices with Grieg Maritime Group at Aker Brygge, Oslo, Norway. Your compensation will be based on your experience and expertise.
