The Company
Stadt Sjøtransport AS was established in 2005 by some local investors. The core business has always been operation of tugs as well as related activities. Today our main focus is still tugboat services, but also mooring services as well as projects as might include barges and other maritime equipment.
The main shareholder is today Rimorchiatori Riuniti Genoa /Italy. This company is the 3rdlargest tugboat operator in Europe.
The head office is located at Kolkaia 1, Florø.
Located centrally at the North-west coast and with a strong foundation in traditional seamanship, Stadt Sjøtransport is excellently positioned to meet the need for various towage services and other related business.
The Role
As a part of the management team the Operations Manager’s main responsibility is to ensure that Stadt Sjøtransport AS is delivering operational excellence as per customers’ expectations and in line with the company’s procedures and relevant maritime standards.
Ensure that Designated Person Ashore always is appointed.
As Stadt is part of Rimorchiatori Mediterranei Group, the role will act in coordination with the Commercial, HR, Finance, Legal, Technical, HSEQ, IT Group Functional policies.
Operations Manager report to the Managing Director
Manage the daily planning and operations of the vessels assigned.
Main Duties Operations
Ensure that the vessel masters are operating the vessels in a safe, economical and efficient manner, while abiding to company procedures and policies.
Updating TugOps with all relevant information and contributing to utilize and improve the TugOps system.
Act as company representative towards the clients together with the Managing Director and represent the company in a polite, professional and accommodating manner.
Contribute to commercial activities such as building tender proposals and quotations, client meetings, post-fixture reporting and invoicing.
Initiate and arrange for sea-shore conferences with key personnel minimum annually to enhance communication and to drive implementation of company policies.
Liaise with crew, co-workers and clients with a respectful and polite approach with the aim to motivate end encourage.
Monitor the PMS and support the Technical Manager to ensure vessel maintenance is performed according to plan and take action if there are unwarranted overdue tasks.
Take steps to stop unsafe acts or conditions and correct them.
Main Duties Crewing
Crew management including recruitment and on-boarding according to flag state requirement and operational need.
Be hands-on and direct in the interaction with crew to create a positive and safe work climate through motivation and regular vessel visits.
Ensure the crew has the appropriate competence/certification and is trained as per company competence matrix and facilitate for further training/familiarization as required.
Performance management of vessel masters according to company procedures and responsible to read, file and follow-up the crew performance appraisals as required.
Main Duties HSEQ
Support QHSE Manager in planning, executing and close-out of internal and external audits.
Shall have a full understanding and implement/maintain the company procedures and policies according to the QMS.
Participate to update or renew all relevant procedures and documents in the QMS.
Responsible to report any deficiency, non-conformity or improvement opportunity identified through the QMS.
Ensure the operational procedures are continuously updated and adhered to.
Act as DPA and identify back-up (Deputy DPA)
Act as Company Security Officer
Collaborate with Technical Manager and HSEQ Manager to define and improve operational procedures and crewing requirements.
To ensure that the environmental impact of the vessel operation is according to company policies.
Who are we looking for ;
Captain on AHTS or tug or other maritime background with knowledge from operations on the Norwegian coastline.
Experience from liaising with , sales and commercial understanding.
