Working in Sustainability - Markets
In Statkraft we aim to integrate sustainability into all areas of our business. Your role will be responsible for how we address sustainability in our Markets business area. Markets delivers industry-leading green market solutions to customers and Statkraft’s assets via energy management, asset exposure management, proprietary trading, and origination. Using your sustainability skills you will support the customer facing parts of our organisation responding to sustainability queries, as well as strategic thinking around our products. In addition, you will help build and optimise our sustainability approach, increase awareness across the Markets organisation, and contribute to designing tomorrow’s reporting and management structure. You will be working with dedicated professionals in our Corporate Sustainability team, to help Statkraft deliver on its strategic ambitions in our market activities.
Your role
As Senior Advisor, you will formally report to the VP and Head of Corporate Sustainability, but work closely with the BA Markets, ensuring access to key experts and being a member of a strong sustainability community as well as first-hand insight into relevant activities in Markets.
In your job, you will:
- Be responsible for following up and integrating key sustainability activities in BA Markets
- Contribute to ongoing corporate-wide efforts to adjust and align our approach to sustainability, including to participate in our sustainability implementation project, representing Markets perspectives
- Take the lead on serving the customer-facing part of the Markets organisation, advising on key sustainability topics, collaborating closely with and drawing on the expertise of key colleagues in Corporate Sustainability
- Complete and respond to customer requests, execute due diligence assessments of potential partners etc.
- Working closely with key departments in Markets, helping develop a more strategic approach to sustainability issues, including how to design green products in light of more stringent requirements
- Coordinate Markets’ contribution to sustainability reporting incl. data gathering, reporting and disclosure on sustainability, and develop good arenas for stakeholder engagement, internally & externally
Qualifications
We look for a candidate with 4+ years of experience and a master's degree ideally from the fields of finance, management, strategy and/or sustainability. That includes knowledge of:
- Sustainability management – system development, processes, implementation, training, tools
- Reporting on sustainability using recognised and evolving frameworks incl. GRI, CDP, TCFD, CSRD, ESRS, UN Global Compact
- Customer facing (B2B) sustainability engagement, e.g., from investor relations or similar
- Strategic execution of sustainability targets and activities
- Sustainability due diligence
- Reporting and disclosures on sustainability, incl. responses to customer queries, surveys, co-operation with our Originators, as well as input to corporate reports
- Good understanding of business integrated sustainability and how this fits into overall business activities – including an understanding of Market related opportunities and risks related to implementation of sustainability management
Experiences in these areas are also useful in your role:
- Analysis and structuring of complex information in a clear and understandable way
- Design thinking or similar dynamic working methods
- Presenting and communicating effectively on sustainability topics
- Self-driven, comfortable with high work pressure and a positive team player
