Mercer Norway is looking for an ESG Consultant

Mercer has a dedicated global Sustainable Investment (SI) team that supports clients with advice and solutions to adopt responsible ownership practices and incorporate environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors into all aspects of investment governance and strategy. This team has, among other things, worked with the United Nations to establish the Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI).
Mercer’s Investments business in Norway has experienced steady growth over recent years and with a strong pipeline of activity. ESG related work has been an important part of this growth and we have made significant investment in the business in terms of Mercer’s service offering related to ESG.
Reporting to the Wealth Leader, Norway the successful candidate will be a key person to organize our client deliveries and develop Mercer’s ESG services. The role is also including to be an ESG-consultant for the largest institutions in Norway. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team with accountability to progressing key strategic initiatives and activity to accelerate commercial success.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Trusted advisor on delivering Sustainable Investment advice and solutions to large asset owners.
- Develop appropriate sustainable investment strategies for clients and provide advice to adjust to regulation e.g. SFDR
- Conduct and review quantitative analytics and reports using Mercer’s tools and databases Examples include carbon footprinting, climate scenario modelling, climate transition pathway setting, stewardship monitoring, and ESG ratings and data analysis.
- Working closely with SI team members based in Continental Europe, the role will involve advisory and research contributions with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
- Build relationships and support pitch activities with internal resources and stakeholders across multiple teams to maximize commercial opportunities.
- Work closely across MMC operating companies to identify and engage clients.
The key attributes of the right person are:
- A genuine passion for sustainable investment.
- Good knowledge of Sustainable Investment and ESG, with an eagerness to learn and keep up to date with the industry and market conditions.
- Degree educated and further industry qualifications would be advantageous.
- Project management of client deliveries across consulting team
- Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build solid working relationships and influence (internally and externally)
- Ethical and hardworking, decisive and results orientated.
- Energy, proactivity and desire to see things done efficiently.
- Strong IT skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
