Telecom department in Oslo is looking to strengthen the team with new Telecom Engineers from Junior to Principal level. You will contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. Our portfolio covers manned and unmanned operated Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HCDC), electrification projects and hydrogen facilities.
About the position
This is a role which requires both technical understanding and a multidisciplinary mindset. Aibel's Telecom Engineers design and specifies telecommunication systems solution for engineering projects in concept, study, and detail phases.
Responsibilities and tasks may include
- Telecom lead role responsible for Telecom (possibility in certain projects)
- Define and development of Telecom strategy, philosophy, and design solutions for Telecom sub systems including remote operations, maintenance, monitoring, and new technologies
- Follow up telecom packages (PRE), vendors and vendors technical documentation
- Interface to other disciplines, suppliers, other installations, and client
- Develop and complete engineering documents and data registers
- Participate and contribute in relevant test activities and improve and mature working methods
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree or relevant technical education
- Relevant practical experience may outweigh and compensate for a lack of formal education.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience from Telecom engineering and telecom system design activities within greenfield O&G projects on the Norwegian continental shelf, in the Offshore Wind sector, Hydrogen related projects, or other relevant experience
- Experience and knowledge of telecom system design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNVGL and IEC from Study phases, FEED or engineering projects
- Efficient communicator, who communicates well in English – Both orally and in writing, knowledge of Norwegian language is advantageous
