Role Introduction
Field is a leading player in airborne data acquisition in Northern Europe and has a broad sensor portfolio and long experience implementing airborne mapping projects.
As part of our portfolio, we also provide hydrographic survey services, either from the air using bathymetric lidar or from the water using sonar technology. Therefore, we want to strengthen our team and are looking for a Hydrographic Data Manager.
As a Hydrographic Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in connecting our technical, operational, and processing teams. The ideal candidate could have a background in airborne lidar bathymetry, topographic or MBES surveying, and knowledge of CARIS or similar processing software suites. This role involves planning hydrographic surveys, developing processing routines, and analyzing data. You will work closely with our software and hardware suppliers and processing teams to ensure the success of our airborne activities and drive continuous growth.
Responsibilities
- Participate closely in hydrographic surveys using airborne lidar bathymetry and possibly sonar technology.
- Process and analyze hydrographic data using CARIS or similar software.
- Provide technical expertise and support in hydrographic data, survey methodologies and technologies.
- Manage survey data, ensuring quality of hydrographic survey data and development of our data processing.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Handle, quality assure, and optimize processing of survey data.
- Stay informed about new technologies and implement these technologies into our processes.
Who we think you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hydrography, Ocean Mapping, Marine Geomatics, or a related field.
- Proficient in airborne lidar bathymetry technology and techniques.
- Experience with CARIS software for data processing and analysis.
- Experience in hydrographic data collection and processing.
- Solid understanding of processes, systems, and IT from education and/or field experience.
- Knowledge of or interest in surveying technologies and data processing.
- Certification in hydrography (e.g., FIG/IHO/ICA Category A and/or B certification) is a plus.
- Most importantly, the desire and potential to learn and grow in the field.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel as required.
