As our new Lead Design Engineer you will mentor a team of engineers, guiding them through various offshore and subsea projects that present multidisciplinary challenges in a global industry. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring project success through your leadership and technical expertise. Like all good designers, you have a "split personality"; the creative and solution-oriented personality that appears at the beginning of any project, and the exact and systematic personality that emerges when the fabrication documents are prepared.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development of concepts for subsea structures and products.
- Oversee the mechanical design of subsea structures and products, tailored to specific projects.
- Serve as the technical point-of-contact for designated deliveries.
- Coordinate and lead both internal and external design reviews.
- Prepare and oversee the creation of fabrication documents, including detailed drawings.
- Compile and review technical documentation in English.
- Approve technical documents and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Guide and mentor engineers through project phases, providing technical and professional support.
- Participate in assembly and testing at external production facilities.
- Travel domestically and internationally, including offshore locations, as required.
Qualifications and characteristics:
- Mechanical engineer, B.Sc/M.Sc degree.
- 5-10 years of experience from Subsea design (Structural/mechanical) and analysis.
- Experience with structured and quality driven development/project processes (ISO 9001-Workflow).
- Experience with CAD and PDM. Autodesk Inventor/Vault is an advantage.
- Experience with production drawings and geometric product specifications as NS-ISO 8015 and underlying standards.
- Experience from fabrication follow-up is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the different regulations in the offshore sector (ISO, API, ASME, Norsok, DNV etc.) will be an advantage.
Subsea Products work location is NOV offices at Fornebu, we are flexible to work from home some days of the week.
