To support our journey, we are looking for Safety Engineers to join the team. The role can be based in either Fornebu / Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, or Trondheim. Other Norwegian office locations can be relevant for the right candidate.
You will join a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled experts in technical safety, risk analysis, and environmental assessments. Driven by innovation and a commitment to sustainability, this team develops comprehensive safety strategies and conducts critical evaluations to enhance project safety and environmental performance across diverse energy sectors.

What will you be doing?
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Perform or have ownership of design safety reviews and assessments, such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and preferably ENVID and WEHRA
- Identify and implement relevant requirements for technical safety
- Develop and maintain safety philosophy in projects and studies.
- Design and evaluate the need for area classification, emergency shutdown and pressure protection, active and passive fire protection, escape, and evacuation means, fire & gas detection, etc.
- Perform or have ownership of Quantitative Risk Analyses (QRA) and perform qualitative risk assessments.
- Review and comment on vendor data.
- Provide mentorship and support the professional growth of less experienced engineers.
- Work both as an integrated member of multi-disciplinary teams and on studies performed directly for the client.
- Work in a competent, multi-disciplinary, and multi-cultural environment.
- Work on studies and projects across all project phases, from Feasibility/Concept to Detail Engineering and Operation/Modification
- Work with Carbon Capture Storage and Utilization (CCUS), hydrogen, ammonia, low-carbon O&G, offshore wind, aquaculture, synthetic fuel production, and more.

What expertise you will bring to the team:
- Master’s degree (or higher) in engineering, preferably with subjects related to one or more of the following fields: process design and process safety, thermodynamics, risk analysis and risk management, or physics.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in technical safety-related work. Candidates with more or less experience will also be considered.
- Experience with technologies and processes related to CCUS, ammonia, hydrogen, oil & gas, or synthetic fuels is preferred.
- A willingness and ability to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge, and a willingness to share your knowledge and experience.
- A cooperative mindset and the ability to translate customer challenges into solutions.
- Ability to work in a structured manner, have strong work ethics, and be a positive contribution to our office environment.
- A good understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant standards, including PTIL, DSB, or UK HSE, is an advantage.
- An understanding of design deliverables required for Conceptual, FEED, and Detailed Design, establishing the appropriate level of detail required for each phase, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Environmental Budgets, BAT, Energy and Resource budgets is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Working Environment factors and Noise abatement is an advantage.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral. Norwegian/Scandinavian language is an advantage.
