We are looking for a Compliance/Business Integrity (BI) Advisor to assist our investment teams across all our offices.

With increasing investment activities and a dedicated climate investment mandate, Norfund is expanding its Legal Department. We are looking for a BI Advisor who will primarily be responsible for advising our investment teams on all matters related to business integrity as part of Norfund’s investment process. Relevant experience from Compliance, Business Integrity, Integrity Due Diligence (IDD) or other related areas in an international context is required. Candidates must be able to provide effective support, manage internal and external relationships and appropriately assess Compliance, Business Integrity and reputational risks arising out of Norfund’s activities. The position is based in Oslo and will report to Norfund’s Senior Compliance Manager. Norfund’s Legal Department currently consists of 6 people based in Oslo.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Collect, assess and verify/corroborate relevant information from Norfund’s investees and other business partners
• Identify and assess potential Business Integrity risks and mitigating factors in transactions
• Present identified risks and suggest mitigants to relevant teams in a structured and timely manner
• Consider potential next steps in close collaboration with relevant teams
• Engage with and administer relations with service providers when Enhanced Due Diligence is required
• Deal with complex matters in challenging jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and guidelines
• Be well informed of relevant market practices and available supporting tools
• Further develop Norfund’s Business Integrity and IDD routines, tools and templates in close collaboration with the Compliance and Legal functions

Personal qualifications:

• Minimum 3 – 5 years proven experience with Compliance, Business Integrity, IDD or other relevant areas in an international business environment, preferably within investments
• Relevant educational background (minimum bachelor’s degree)
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Compliance/Business Integrity best practice and tools
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Analytical, structured and curious mindset
• Sound judgement and ability to analyse complex situations and large amounts of data
• Ability to deliver on time and have a proactive and pragmatic approach in assessment of risks and recommendation of mitigants
• Ability to work closely with investment teams and independently when required
• Interest for and general understanding of Norfund’s mandate, main stakeholders and investment universe
• Excellent communication skills in English are a prerequisite. Other languages considered an advantage
