On behalf of our client, we are looking for four Senior Engineers - Land Installation (Civil Construction, Site Managers) to join the Land Engineering department. This is a 12-month contract position based in Oslo, with possible exceptions for Halden, starting on August 15, 2024. Responsibilities include ensuring the performance of all necessary engineering activities (documentation, planning, procurement, and follow-up).
Responsibilities:
Engineering:
- Define and document scope of work.
- Identify and present solutions.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and archive project documentation.
Leadership:- Foster team ownership of project goals.
- Clearly define tasks and expectations.
- Maintain open communication and distribute information.
- Promote a positive work environment.
Planning:- Develop and maintain land installation plans.
- Integrate with overall project and logistics plans.
- Manage travel plans for team resources.
Procurement:- Ensure material and service provision.
- Maintain procurement lists and documentation.
- Evaluate bids and report deviations.
- Resource Management:
- Define and follow up on resource needs.
- Manage site personnel and communication channels.
Economy:- Monitor and adjust project budget.
- Identify and report cost deviations.
- Approve invoices and compare budgets.
Interfaces:- Define and maintain clear interfaces within the discipline.
- Collaborate with stakeholders.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Participate in HSE meetings and toolbox talks.
- Lead by example in safety practices.
Logistics:- Ensure availability of tools and materials.
- Maintain equipment lists and perform quality control.
Reporting:- Adhere to reporting requirements.
- Communicate unforeseen events to stakeholders.
- Keep project team updated.
Quality:- Deliver quality work.
- Follow internal and contract requirements.
- Report quality deviations.
- Note: The primary work tasks are as listed, but not limited to these, and may include other responsibilities as needed to support the project.
Expected results- Ensure that the cable(s) and components are installed in accordance with the contract requirements and the standard and experience
- Contribute to implementing competitive and professional engineering solutions in the project
- Contribute to keeping the technology up to date with industry practice and rules
Requested Competencies and Qualification- Engineer with relevant education, Master/Bachlor or equivalent or experience with similar positions
- Typically 0-5 years engineering experience
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, verbal and written
- Ability to adapt to change
- High sense of quality and on time performance
- Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
