Noroff University College is currently seeking Assistant (lecturer) or Associate Professors (senior lecturer).
Noroff University College, in Kristiansand, Norway, is currently seeking an academic specialist in Accounting and IT Audit to support the delivery of our new degree program in Digital Assurance and Security Management (DASM).
This role involves close collaboration with a team of academic staff to develop and deliver course content, conduct research, and engage in teaching activities. The successful candidate will be required to teach a variety of core subjects related to Accounting and IT Audit and generalist subjects. Both academic qualifications and relevant experience will be considered during the selection process.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, and seminars on Accounting and IT Audit through the use of innovative teaching and learning methods.
- Create comprehensive teaching materials and assessments, ensuring timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and refinement of curriculum and course content in alignment with industry standards.
- Foster industry relationships and stay current with developments in the fields of Accounting and IT Audit.
- Supervise student projects, fieldwork, and industry placements.
- Engage in research activities and contribute to the university’s academic publications.
- Support marketing efforts and participate in outreach activities to promote the degree program.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and students through internal networks, sharing ideas and information.
- Inspire and engage students and staff through dynamic and informative teaching practices.
The skills and abilities required include:
- A postgraduate qualification (Masters) in Accounting, IT, or a related field.
- Experience in online teaching and learning environments.
- The ability to engage students in innovative, informative teaching and learning practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, including written, oral, and visual.
- A strong commitment to team-working and collegial collaboration.
- A strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), internal control measures, management accounting techniques, and IT audit practices.
- Proven experience in the fields of accounting and IT audit with a focus on practical applications and an ability to identify and mitigate financial and IT risks.
- Understanding current trends and issues in accounting and IT audit.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with accounting software and IT audit tools such as ACL or IDEA.
- Industry experience in accounting and IT audit is desirable and can be demonstrated through work history and project details.
- A history of publications and research in the fields of accounting and IT audit.
- Familiarity with academic quality assurance and enhancement activities at the university level.
- Professional certifications related to accounting and IT audit, such as CPA, CISA, or CIMA.
- Formal pedagogical qualifications would be advantageous, although development is offered as part of the appointment.
- A postgraduate qualification (Ph.D.) or equivalent industry certifications are desirable, and demonstrated through the application.
- An existing ability to work in Norway would be advantageous.
