We are looking for a Gas Operations - Dispatcher who is motivated to join our gas sales and operations team.
The gas operations team manages the commercial operations that ensures that Norske Shell gas flows uninterrupted from field to the European market.
Key Dimensions:
As a Gas Operations - Dispatcher in the operations team, you will be part of a team of 6 working a 24/7 shift rotation: morning-, afternoon- and nightshift. The team ensures gas flow from fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf to customers in the UK and Continental Europe all day every day. The team is responsible for the end-to-end process of nominating gas from producing gas-fields, securing capacity to process and transport the gas, and preparing customers at various locations to take delivery of the gas.
In addition, the team monitors prices in the gas markets and optimizes gas flow to the market, achieving the highest possible value. The Gas Operations - Dispatcher will interact with the transportation system operator, gas shippers, gas traders, and internal stakeholders. As part of a shift rotation, one must have the ability to hand over work in an efficient, accurate and supportive manner.
Key accountabilities:
- Manage Norske Shell’s gas portfolio while simultaneously providing services to third parties.
- Ensure that gas sales operations are managed in line with the overall business objectives and that Norske Shell’s commercial position is always protected.
- Ensure the daily management of gas transportation according to regulations from authorities and procedures from customers.
- After field availabilities are received, correctly distribute nominations according to various contractual guidelines.
- Balance supply and demand according to available capacity requirements.
- Instruct the gas lifting and exit delivery nominations to the upstream system operator and downstream customers by use of the dispatching system.
- Daily optimizing of the portfolio through monitoring various market prices, analysing risk against value, and executing the placement of the gas through instructions to Shell traders.
- Continuously monitor and make necessary adjustments to nominations and capacity requirements during one’s shift.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Business fluent English and Norwegian
- Ability to communicate clearly especially with other third parties across borders.
- Proficient in Microsoft office (excel & teams)
- High focus on commercial mindset
- A self-motivated, structured, accurate, and driven individual who is always looking for opportunities to create value and save costs by following operational procedures but also thinking outside the box to solve difficult issues.
- Team player and customer focused.
- Experience from upstream/downstream gas industry is an advantage, but other relevant experience will also be taken into consideration.
- Ability to work in stressful situations when time is an issue and prioritize which actions need to be taken to meet deadlines and ensure value.
- Enjoys working a shift schedule (day, afternoon, and night rotation from home office).
