We're looking for a Head of Materials who can explore the limitless possibilities of elastomeric materials and contribute to our mission of disrupting the industry.
The Role
As the Head of Materials at reTyre, you'll be at the cutting-edge forefront of material application. You'll work closely with our R&D and engineering teams to discover, test, and co-develop new types of materials and material blends for tyre production. Your role will be pivotal in the development and realization of sustainable tyres, focusing on emission reduction and recycling. We have numerous partners with substantial resources for material development and testing, and you will manage these collaborative projects.
The role will mainly operate from the Company's HQ in Ski, right outside of Oslo.
Responsibilities
- Discover and test new elastomeric materials, including TPEs.
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners to source high-quality materials.
- Manage testing protocols and building requirements.
- Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to integrate new materials into production.
- Oversee the entire material lifecycle, from sourcing to end-of-life.
- Manage collaborative projects with external partners for material development and testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in material research, preferably in the automotive or cycling industry.
- Proficiency in material testing and analysis tools.
- Demonstrated experience in working with a range of elastomers and topology.
- Preferably worked with compounding and material development.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well independently and in collaborative team environments.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
