About Litech

Litech is an Oslo-based startup specializing in developing sensor systems to detect and remove hazardous objects, such as flammable batteries and gas bottles, to prevent fires and explosions at waste facilities. Our vision is to create sustainable and safe waste management by eliminating the harmful impact of incorrectly sorted hazardous materials.

Our first pilot project with Norsk Gjenvinning was recently launched at their facility in Oslo. We collaborate with partners in the waste industry and R&D and are part of the vibrant Startuplab ecosystem, benefiting from its extensive network and resources.

We're currently seeking a skilled Data Scientist Engineer to join our team!

Your Role

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing AI algorithms that drive our sensor systems. With our prototype successfully installed in real-world industrial settings, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our AI models to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize AI algorithms for signal classification
• Analyze and interpret large datasets to improve model performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions with hardware and firmware components.
• Design and conduct experiments to validate AI models and system performance.
• Participate in technical discussions and decision-making processes.
• Stay updated on new AI technologies and tools, exploring opportunities for system improvement.
• Transition AI models from the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage into scalable solutions for deployment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data science and AI algorithm development.
• Proficient in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar machine learning frameworks.
• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised, self-supervised and unsupervised learning.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and data visualization tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with embedded AI and deploying models on edge devices.
• Knowledge of sensor data analysis and signal processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms for AI model training, monitoring and deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
