Exciting opportunity for a Group Accounting Manager to strengthen our Finance organization

AVA has an exciting opportunity for a Group Accounting Manager to strengthen our Finance organization. As the Group Accountant Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing our company’s financial operations. Your responsibilities will include managing accounting records, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information. This position is in the Bergen Area and reports to the CFO/COO. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounting Department
• Overall responsibility that all accounting transactions are in accordance with laws and regulations
• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and treasury.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and bookkeeping which go into financial reporting
• Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company, such as auditors, banks, and other financial organizations
• Reconcile AR with big customers
• Find solutions for complex customers that are labour intensive to handle
• Reconcile intercompany
• Improve the efficiency of all transaction flows
• Secure full balance sheet reconciliations with total visibility on all balance sheet accounts.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
• Minimum of 4-5 years of accounting and finance experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements and experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Proficiency in accounting software, MS Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of ERP system usage
• Preferably experience with Power BI
• Good communication skills in English and Norwegian
