Master product costs and fuel company growth
The Product Cost Analyst is a key role that involves analyzing product costs, identifying areas for improvement and providing insights on the groups gross margins. Your expertise in product cost analysis will help the company achieve its profitability and performance goals. You will also collaborate with various functions and entities within the group to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of cost reporting, update and maintain the bill of material and provide accurate inventory valuation across the group, accruals and goods in transit values. You will also participate in product cost forecasting. This is a challenging and exiting role that requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Update and maintain the bill of materials (BOM) for various products in collaboration with local finance managers. Act as a key contributor in the development of reports, including quarterly market reports.
Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify cost per product, cost development vs previous periods and product cost forecasting based on backlog (supplier backlog and customer backlog).
Reconciliations of:
- Cost of goods sold (COGS) vs purchase, goods in transit and inventory levels.
- Inventory vs purchase, work in progress, level of finished goods, stock corrections and FX effects in consolidated reporting.
- Other COGS effects as production settlements, freight, accruals etc.
- Sales and COGS vs billing reports etc.
Key qualifications:
- Senior accounting and/or audit background
- Experience as a controller in a production company.
- Familiarity with production cost settlement and creating/controlling BOM
- Proficiency in Power BI, Power Query or similar.
- Experience with ERP systems.
