Discipline Lead- Design, Fabrication & Welding

We are looking for a knowledgeable, motivated and pleasant leader for a team of experts within product design, fabrication package management, welding, materials, corrosion coating and cathodic protection.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop yourself within several areas. As Discipline Lead for such a team, you need to demonstrate leadership daily, and use your strong competences to make wise and sound technical and commercial decisions.
Quality interpersonal communication is key to success in this role, as you will be interfacing with internal and external clients and partners. In a medium-sized company, like Ocean Installer, you will quickly be recognized and get opportunities to influence.
This role combines internal management and project support in an approximate 40/60 split. Your role in projects will depend on your background and competence.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide management and leadership for discipline team members. Mentor and guide, encourage and support personal development.
- Assign project work tasks and responsibilities to team members.
- Maintain and develop required competency, methods, processes, and tools for the discipline, and follow the Business Management System.
- Actively participate in recruitment of new personnel
- Single point of contact for any discipline related matters for all Ocean Installer regions.
- Actively support the Project Technical Managers with developing schedules and CTRs for work scopes assigned to your discipline
- Provide timely and fit for purpose input for specific packages at projects early bidding stage (e.g., structures, protection covers, flowlines, umbilicals,risers)
- Participate in technical evolution of supplier quotations
- Provide technical advice and problem solving on fabrication matters (e.g., corrosion, coating selections, material selections, industry regulations and guidelines, welding procedures, etc)
- Have good knowledge of national and international codes, standards, and specifications, and ensure work is delivered in accordance with agreed contract requirements
- Point of contact for relevant Frame Agreements and call-offs for hiring QC inspectors at fabrication sites
- Contribute to a positive work environment and collaborative climate internally and externally

- Relevant Master or Bachelor degree
- Min 7 years`experience with subsea packages
- Ability to lead a team
