Data Management Lead - Drilling and Wells

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer in Data Management to join our Data management team at Vår Energi. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and utilizing data management techniques to standardize and optimize efficiency throughout the well delivery process.

Main Tasks

• Develop and implement data management strategies to support drilling operations, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and interpret drilling data to improve operational efficiency and decision-making
• Lead the design and implementation of data management systems and tools to streamline data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
• Provide technical expertise in data modeling, visualization, and analysis to support drilling planning and execution
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies, industry regulations, and best practices in data management
• Mentor and train junior engineers and data analysts in data management techniques and tools
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data management technologies to drive continuous improvement in drilling operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on drilling operations
• Understanding of D&W planning processes, operations and drilling equipment
• Knowledge and awareness of commonly used data structures in the industry such as OSDU, WITSML and other relevant standards
• Proficiency in data management tools and software, such as SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
