Hydro has more than 100 years of experience in production of renewable energy. Today, we are one of the three largest operators of power production in Norway and a large power market player in the Nordic region and Brazil. Hydro Energy is responsible for developing new business opportunities for Hydro within both renewable energy and batteries, and we provide support to the rest of Hydro's business areas on contracts, security of supply, grid issues and energy framework conditions.
Hydro is actively developing business opportunities within batteries, hydrogen, solar, onshore wind and hydropower. We also aim to contribute to the decarbonization of our own aluminium industry. All projects require grid connection and capacity in the transmission or regional grids.
We are now looking for a permanent position as Project Manager in our Power Systems, Grid & Concessions team.
In this role, you will provide your high voltage and grid expertise to Hydro's largest industrial plants, power stations and renewable and decarbonization projects related to project development, grid conditions and security of supply.
The role includes also cooperation and dialogue with grid operators and relevant authorities. This is a great opportunity for you with interest in and ambitions around development of competitive energy and decarbonization solutions.

Areas of responsibility/Role
- Provide high voltage and grid expertise to Hydro's existing plants and new projects related to
- Project development for increased renewable power production and decarbonization of the aluminium indusgry
- Security of supply issues
- Manage relations and develop cooperation with grid operators and other external partners and bodies including regulatory authorities.
- Participate in or manage internal and external expertise networks.
- Monitor power system analysis and developments.
- Deal with relevant policy and regulatory framework/conditions for Hydro as industrial consumer, power producer and grid owner.
Your qualifications and skills
- Master level in Electrical engineering/Industrial economics or equivalent
- Understanding of transmission and power systems; operational, development, planning and regulatory issues
- Experience from developing grid solutions for relevant energy projects.
- Experience from grid tariffs and knowledge of regulatory framework for grid connection and grid owners.
- Commercial and analytical mindset with understanding of strategic implications
- Team oriented with strong cooperative and communicative skills, both oral and written.
- Fluent in English and Norwegian
- A driving force within project development and new ways of working
- Ability to work cross functionally to build network, both internally and externally
Additional information
The position is based in Oslo, and some travelling is to be expected.
