Sr. Data Governance Analyst - Well delivery
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Governance/Quality engineer to join our Data governance team at Vår Energi. The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data related to planning and execution of D&W activities across the well delivery process, with a primary focus on maintaining high data quality standards throughout the drilling process.
Main Tasks
- Develop and implement data quality standards and procedures specific to planning and execution of the activities across the well delivery process, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including D&W Engineering team, Subsurface team, Exploration team and IT team , to identify data quality issues and develop solutions to address them
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of drilling data to identify discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies, and take corrective actions as needed
- Establish data governance policies and procedures to ensure data security, confidentiality, and availability throughout the well delivery process
- Lead data quality improvement initiatives, including data cleansing, data enrichment, and data validation processes to enhance the overall quality of drilling data
- Provide training and guidance to team members on data standards and data quality best practices and tools, fostering a culture of high data quality and data-driven decision-making across the well delivery process
- Implement data quality tools and technologies to automate data validation processes and improve data accuracy
- Collaborate with our vendors and suppliers of databases and cloud solutions to ensure Vår Energi data standards are met
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data quality and provide regular reports and updates to management on data quality metrics and trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years in data quality assurance within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on planning and execution of drilling operations
- Strong knowledge of planning and execution of drilling operations, drilling data systems, and industry-specific data standards (e.g. WITMSL data standard)
- Proficiency in data quality tools and technologies, data visualization tools, and data analysis techniques
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
