You as the new Location Procurement Operations Manager will provide procurement and commercial leadership and direction to Senior Plant Management. This role sits on the Plant and regularly meets with Senior Managers at the location. Will also represent the assigned location(s) business goals and challenges back into the broader Procurement organization. You will help to represent the Procurement organization and its goals to the internal customer to achieve business objectives, including the full supply chain and third party spend at the location. You will become the direct Customer SPA for Procurement at the location and sponsor and promote the Global Procurement programs and initiatives at the location level including Supplier Relationship Management, Supplier Performance Management, Sustainability and Local Content.

About the Role:

With strong procurement and contracting knowledge, the Location Procurement Operations Manager must lead and drive actionable results, in partnership with the location and through others. You must have strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills at all levels of the organization coupled with the acumen to handle complex situations through to resolution. Additionally, you must have the capacity to deal with multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long term initiatives with the urgency of business-critical issues requiring immediate attention.

Core activities within this role include:

• Providing procurement and commercial advice and direction to the Plant Lead Team.

• Communicating, reporting and managing the interface between Procurement and the Location to ensure alignment and support for the organization’s goals and objectives

• Partnering with the business to maximize commercial advantage and add value for Alcoa via the deployment of effective sourcing strategies for the sites/plants he/she is responsible for.

• Minimizing commercial risk through the implementation of robust commercial and contractual terms, whilst reducing the total cost of acquisition and ownership.

• Development and implementation of strategies to minimize risk to the business from Supplier Capacity and Supply Chain risks and constraints

• Authoring, implementing and managing contract documents with suppliers critical to the location to limit risk to Alcoa and establish competitive rates and terms

• Conducting competitive sourcing events in order to identify the best overall solution for the location’s needs

• Developing a spend profile for the location and suggesting ways to identify bottom line savings or cost avoidance opportunities on upcoming projects

• Ensuring compliance with all of Alcoa’s global procurement procedures

• Update the Commercial Sharepoint with the negotiations, savings projection and cost avoidance.

• Identify, facilitate and execute Procurement initiatives which drive supplier productivity, TCO improvement and add value to the location

• Ensure that Alcoa obtains the expected benefits from supplier commercial agreements, including agreed performance outcomes, agreed commercial initiatives and process improvements including identification and resolution of supplier disputes and claims.

• Support the development of key supplier and customer relationships.

• Quantify, track and report cost savings/headwinds/avoidances at the location level.

• Participate on location cross functional teams when requested to input and coordinate the strategic demands, needs and requirements of the business for materials, services, new plant and outsourcing.

• Positively support and facilitate the interface between Procurement and the business.

• All other duties as assigned

Required background and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, Engineering or related with relevant experience in Category/Contract Specialist and/or Procurement Specialist.

• Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering global and regional category strategies in the Mining and Resources industry or similar.

• Proficiency in English language required.

• Strong working knowledge of Procurement and business processes and extensive experience as a Purchasing Manager in heavy industry or similar level.

• Strong networking skills
