Data Management Specialist

Vår Energi is looking for a skilled professional to bridge business stakeholders and our data delivery team, ensuring the implementation and enforcement of data governance principles. In this role, you will take ownership of critical data management processes, contribute to digital transformation projects, all while maintaining a focus on data quality across the organization.

Main Tasks

• Serving as a representative to facilitate communication between business stakeholders and data service delivery team
• Creating and enforcing data management policies. Documenting/standardizing processes & procedures
• Helping the team with data exploration/analysis and data visualization solutions
• Be able to do and delegate day2day data management tasks (Seismic and well data requests)
• Take ownership & responsibility for the quality of data from service delivery team
• Be able to implement secure procedures for data handling to contribute to business processes
• When required, lead and manage projects for digital transformation, improvement in processes and procedures
• Conduct meetings with business stakeholders and gather data management requirements
• Mentor and advice young professionals

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelor's degree Geoscience, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized and approved program
• You will have a minimum of 10 years' professional experience in data management, preferably in the oil and gas exploration industry
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with geology and geophysics software is required
• You must have strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with BI/data analytics software is preferred
• You will demonstrate your knowledge of the DAMA data management framework. CDMP certification is preferred
• You would be able to build complex SQL queries if required
