We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on the core logic of our identity and authentication solutions.
The Role:
We are looking for a skilled Java and cloud software engineer to work on the core logic of our identity and authentication solutions. You will be working hands-on with Java/Kotlin, Spring, and cloud technologies (AWS/GCP), as well as modern DevOps practices like containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Your work will include building and scaling microservices, designing secure RESTful APIs, and ensuring our cloud infrastructure remains robust, secure, and scalable across multi-cloud environments. You will also contribute to our automation and monitoring solutions, ensuring our deployments are seamless and resilient.
The Team:
The team you will be joining is part of the Mobile Identity Tribe at Signicat. We are responsible for the core authentication engine of the MobileID solution from Signicat. The solution we deliver is used by millions of end users across Europe. The team is based in our centrally located Oslo office, making for an easy commute and ideal for after-hours social activities.
The Mobile Identity Tribe we are part of consists of three teams working closely together. In addition to the core authentication team, there is the client team and the service team. The client team develops the mobile SDK for the authentication engine and apps that use the core solution we build. This team is partly co-located with us in Oslo and partly based in Portugal. The service team, which develops additional services on top of our core solution, is located in Trondheim.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with other engineers to optimize our CI/CD pipeline in AWS and GCP environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Work on the full software development lifecycle, from coding and testing to deployment and monitoring.
- Improve the security of our solutions by staying current with security standards, threat modeling, and best practices.
- Engage in technical discussions, architectural decisions, and cross-team collaborations to drive our projects forward.
- Provide integration support to customers, including some travel when needed.
Desired Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Java and cloud-native development.
- Proficiency with modern cloud infrastructure tools (AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with security principles and best practices for API design and implementation.
The tech stack you’ll work with:
Languages: Java, Kotlin
Cloud Platforms: AWS (test automation), GCP (production SaaS)
Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform
APIs: RESTful API development using Java (Spring)
Automation/CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab-CI
Security: OAuth, OpenID Connect, mobile biometrics, financial regulation (PSD-2, strong customer authentication)
Databases: MySQL, Oracle
Operating Systems: Linux
