About the Positions
Due to continued increased activity and healthy business growth, we are looking for a Ship Agent/Logistics Coordinator in Bømlo, Norway.
We are open to consider a position for both:
- Entry-level candidates who are interested in the industry but have no formal experience, and
- Experienced Ship Agents who are looking to take on new challenges in a company that values your competency
If applying for an entry level role, you will learn many aspects of the position while working side-by-side with a local experienced mentor to support operations from day one. These positions are open to anyone who is sensitive to internal and external customer needs and is excited by the idea of applying this passion in an international, diverse, and inclusive environment. Training will be provided to prepare you for a fully independent, operational position.
If applying for a Ship Agent or Senior Ship Agent level role, you will receive initial training in our systems and routines and have access to a network of internal experts in all relevant areas. Once you are ready, you will work alongside our Bømlo team and in cooperation with our other departments throughout Norway and the GAC Group. Within the first few months, we will work with you to identify your strengths and motivations and adapt your role to reflect this.
Some duties of this position require periodic physical presence; thus, we are unfortunately unable to open these opportunities to accommodate those that need or want to work remotely 100%.
Do you like to “think outside the box" or have a disability that has given you additional skills and a unique perspective? Perhaps it's planning the day in detail or a trained approach to evaluating a new challenge. Then YOU are encouraged to apply regardless of age, gender, cultural background, or disability. We value your opinions and knowledge!
We believe in maintaining an environment where all voices are heard – an environment that embraces diversity and respects everyone. Personal qualities are emphasised!
Daily Tasks
After adequate training, you will support operations and implementation of our company’s strategy while performing the following tasks:
- Documentation and clearance of ships upon arrival and departure
- Communication with all parties involved during ships’ port calls
- Coordination and arrangement of crew change and husbandry services
- Provision of logistics services
- Miscellaneous tasks such as cost control and invoicing
