Are you ready for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live and work in the Arctic? At Hurtigruten Svalbard, we offer more than just a job; we offer an adventure. As Host, you’ll be responsible for the entire guest experience at Coal Miners' Cabins.

Coal Miners' Cabins is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Host to join our team and deliver unforgettable experiences to our guests from around the world. The position is Seasonal from January until end of September. Coal Miners' Cabins is situated in the breathtaking Arctic wilderness of Nybyen, a small satellite settlement within Longyearbyen, Svalbard.

Coal Miners' Cabins is a historic place, built to house the coal miners of the local mining company. Today it is transformed into a comfortable lodging for guests that would like to explore one of the most remote destinations on the planet. Historically Stormessa was the place where everyone gathered for meals, social gatherings and spending time together after work. This tradition lives on today and our Hosts are the head and heart of Stormessa, taking care of our guests from before they arrive, until they leave. Making memories for life for our international guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly welcoming guests upon arrival and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process
• Managing guest inquiries and providing recommendations for activities in and around Svalbard
• Handling reservations, room assignments, and payments
• Serving food and drinks
• Maintaining high standards of customer service to ensure guest satisfaction

What we need

• Good communication skills in English are essential, other languages is nice and if you know a Scandinavian language, that’s a great bonus!
• A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a dynamic environment
• Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail
• A positive attitude, team spirit, and a willingness to go the extra mile
• Previous experience from front office roles and food and beverage is preferred
