Procurement Manager / Contract Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager / Contract Specialist to lead our purchasing team and manage the procurement of a wide range of materials and equipment.

In this role, you will serve as both a leader and a technical expert, ensuring the successful negotiation, formation, and administration of purchase orders. You will also play a critical role in contract management, including overseeing prequalification, tender evaluation, contract award, and supplier performance.

This is a senior-level position for someone with advanced expertise in procurement and contract management. This role will be a pivotal part of the SCM management team, setting the procurement strategy together with the Supply Chain Director and align the procurement activities with the overall strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of buyers, providing guidance and technical expertise on complex procurement projects.
  
• Oversee the procurement of both engineered and non-engineered items on a competitive basis to meet company and project requirements.
  
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  
• Serve as a Contract Specialist, overseeing internal and project procurement contracts
  
• Manage the procurement process from bidder prequalification, RFQ issuance, tender evaluation, and award recommendations to supplier performance monitoring.
  
• Ensure invoice verification, resolution of claims, back charges, and order close-outs are executed effectively.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  
• Utilize advanced systems and tools for procurement and contract management, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the development of new processes as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, and/or contract management, including leadership roles.
  
• Extensive experience in procurement of both engineered and non-engineered items, with a strong track record in contract negotiation and administration.
  
• Advanced knowledge of procurement systems, processes, and tools.
  
• Strong leadership and team management skills
  
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and align procurement activities with business objectives.

• Ability to make independent decisions and set priorities for complex procurement and contract situations.
  
• Lead the procurement team, managing day-to-day procurement activities.
  
• Influence and oversee staff work, ensuring compliance with company policies and objectives.
  
• Present proposals and reports to senior management
