About the role
Verdane is experiencing growth, and we’re seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our Data & Insights team in our Stockholm or Oslo office. As a Data Engineer, you’ll be part of the platform team, taking ownership of our data warehouse, pipelines, data models, and testing processes.
As a successful candidate, you will join a team focused on enhancing workflows and data-use within Verdane and will sometimes assist portfolio companies in data engineering-related discussions and workshops. You will work with all departments to ensure access to relevant, high-quality data. The Data & Insights team comprises the Platform, Business Intelligence, and IT teams, covering a wide range of systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop data pipelines (using tools like Fivetran and custom Python integrations in Databricks notebooks).
- Create and maintain data models (leveraging dbt and star schemas) for consumption by Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, and other sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide modeling solutions that align with business requirements.
- Monitor and ensure data quality within the warehouse.
- Prepare and optimize data in the warehouse for use within Microsoft Copilot and other LLMs.
- Handle ad-hoc requests for scraping and data analyses.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in data modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with Python for data-related tasks.
- Technical skills in dbt, Databricks, Azure, Python, and Data Factory are beneficial.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

- Migrating to a new data warehouse built on Databricks.
- Defining and implementing a data quality and governance monitoring strategy.
- Expanding Microsoft 365 Copilot with company data.
- Integrating APIs from SaaS tools to automate processes.
Location: Stockholm or Oslo office
