We're looking for an R&D Engineer in FPGA
What the job is about
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented FPGA Engineer to strengthen our power converters R&D team. As a core team member, you will develop and verify firmware for closed-loop control of high-frequency, kW-level power converters, as well as organizing and refining legacy code. Our power converter applications include industrial inductive heating and wireless inductive charging for electric vehicles.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer who is passionate about FPGA design and eager to contribute to cutting-edge product development.
Key responsibilitiesFPGA Programming & Verification
- Apply best practices in FPGA programming, emphasizing modular and reusable code design, and perform structured, systematic verification.
Code Organization
- Play a key role in organizing, structuring, and maintaining legacy code to optimize codebase efficiency.
Firmware Implementation
- Develop firmware to control power converters, contributing to the functionality and reliability of ENRX’s products.
Project Collaboration
- Contribute to R&D projects from initial concept through to product rollout and improvement phases, working closely with teams across our sister companies.
Knowledge Transfer
- Document processes, create user-friendly guides, and lead training sessions to share expertise with colleagues.
Continuous Improvement
- Support ongoing innovation from code level to final product, implementing improvements that elevate product performance and reliability.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree Electronics, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Core Skills
- Proficient in VHDL or Verilog for FPGA design (e.g., Quartus, Vivado), with relevant industrial experience.
Verification & Simulation
- Experienced in simulation, test bench design, timing closure, and verification methodologies.
System-on-Chip (SoC) Experience
- Hands-on experience in programming System-on-Chips (Intel, Xilinx) and practical exposure to System-on-Modules.
Power Converter Control
- Willingness to develop expertise in control methods for power electronic converters, especially in inductive power transfer.
Team Collaboration
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multinational team environment with strong communication skills.
Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is an advantage:
- Switching behavior of semiconductor modules
- Closed-loop control methods for power electronic converters
- Familiarity with ENRX’s key applications, including wireless EV charging or induction heating
Proficiency in:
- PCB design and analog electronics
- ARM processor programming using C/C++
- Schematic coding tools (HDL Coder, Xilinx System Generator) and high-level synthesis tools for FPGA programming
