Jefferson Wells is seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in Heat Trace to join our client’s team for the Snøhvit Future Project EPCI in Asker. This exciting role in a large green field/brown field project offers a unique opportunity to deepen expertise in electrical heat trace design within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform calculations, selection, and follow-up of heat trace cable designs.
- Develop and oversee heat trace requirements according to P&ID documents and project-specific solutions.
- Input, update, and maintain the heat trace engineering register with accurate information.
- Generate heat trace ISOs using Aveva E3D software.
- Prepare and review heat trace MTOs (Material Take-Offs).
- Participate actively in meetings between fabrication and engineering to ensure alignment.
- Coordinate and interface with other disciplines to meet project standards and timelines.
Background and Qualifications:
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or Technical College diploma, along with a minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience in onshore and offshore facilities. This role requires at least 5 years of specific experience in electrical heat trace design for onshore and offshore projects, with comprehensive knowledge of electrical design standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC. Familiarity with Aveva E3D and NavisWorks is essential.
Certification in EX (to be renewed every 5 years) and FSE is required; if the candidate does not hold an EX certificate, they must complete the course soon after beginning the role. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator in English, both written and verbal, with a cooperative attitude that supports teamwork in a diverse, multicultural setting. In addition, a high level of accuracy, adherence to deadlines, and commitment to quality are essential. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is critical, along with a proactive approach to seeking advice and sharing expertise with team members.
