We are now looking to recruit an ambitious, experienced energy economist and/or renewable energy financial expert for our Oslo-based Renewable Energy Advisory Services team (REAS).

Seamlessly integrated with Multiconsult’s 300 power and renewables engineers, REAS provides economic and financial advisory services to private and public sector clients across the Nordics and Africa. In REAS you will work with a close-knit team of experienced advisors helping clients navigate increasingly complex renewable energy & power markets.
Services REAS provides include strategic planning, regulatory and policy advisory, energy market analysis and modelling, transaction advisory and due diligence services, and management of complex programmes for electrification or promotion of renewable energy investment; often targeting African countries and funded by international development cooperation agencies and financial institutions.

What will you do?
As part of REAS you will be working with both large, complex and multidisciplinary assignments as well as smaller, short term assignments.
You should have proven competence and experience within at least one and preferably several of the following fields:
- Investment Support and Due Diligence – acquisition or seller side;
- Financial modelling
- Project finance
- Climate finance, Carbon markets and carbon financing
- Power sector regulation/regulatory economics
- RE procurement & tender management
- Power market modelling (e.g. PyPSA and Balmorel)
- Risk Analysis
The REAS team also work with Market Research; Project Management; Deal Sourcing; Stakeholder Relations, and your experience in any of these will be a strength.
Who are we looking for?
As a successful REAS member you will be curious, analytical, independent, and committed to understanding and supporting the energy transition and sustainable development agendas.
You should have a minimum of ten years’ working experience including at least five years of relevant experience gained at an international consultancy, renewable energy company, power utility, development finance organization, or similar.
Qualifications of particular interest are listed below. If you do not meet all the desired qualifications, we will still assess candidates that bring a compelling combination of skills that fit in well with our existing team of advisors. Your actual work and assignments will depend on your combination of qualifications, experience, competency and interest.
- Master's degree or higher in economics, finance, or similar field
- Certification in financial analysis or accounting (CFA, FRM, CAIA, CPA, ACCA or similar)
- Proven understanding of renewable energy/just energy transition, from a project development, technological, environmental or business perspective
- Experience in the development and/or financing of renewable energy/energy transition projects
- Experience working with International Financing Institutions (IFIs) and/or donor agencies
- The ability to convey something complex in simple terms; the ability to extract appealing storylines from data
- Excellent oral and written English skills
- Fluency in a Scandinavian language or other international languages
