Duties and responsibilities
As a Documentation Engineer, you’ll be the backbone of our production engineering process—ensuring that every project runs smoothly through the management and organization of essential documentation. From creating technical specifications to collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll have the chance to shape the success of our shipbuilding projects from start to finish.
- Be the Key Player: Take charge of critical project documents, including RFQs, technical specifications, and installation procedures.
- Work on Exciting Projects: Contribute to the outfitting of offshore and cruise vessels, playing a part in cutting-edge designs and complex engineering challenges.
- Make an Impact: Your attention to detail and organizational skills will directly influence the efficiency and quality of our projects.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work alongside engineers, procurement specialists, and production teams to ensure alignment and success.
What You’ll Do in This Role?
- Document the Journey: Prepare RFQs, technical specifications, and manage the creation of installation guidelines for subcontractors.
- Support with ERP Systems: Help us streamline project data by maintaining and updating ERP systems (IFS, SAP) once they are fully integrated.
- Lead the Way: Act as a key engineering point of contact for assigned projects and manage technical follow-up to ensure project success.
- Collaborate & Contribute: Attend project meetings, participate in inspections, and assist in ensuring compliance with building specifications and client requirements.
- Production & Yard Support: Attend yard inspections and support client/class audits during the outfitting phase to ensure adherence to technical and regulatory standards.
- Make a Difference: Support quality improvement initiatives, implement lessons learned, and track project documentation to help elevate our team’s performance.
Qualifications
Do you have a technical background in engineering and a love for organizing complex data? Are you looking for a role where your skills can make a real difference? We want someone who:
- Has Experience with AutoCAD and is comfortable with ERP systems (IFS, SAP).
- Brings Knowledge of Shipbuilding or is eager to learn about industry-specific rules and regulations.
- Has Strong Communication Skills and the ability to collaborate with various teams.
