Join our team as a Commissioning and Service Technician
We are looking for a Commissioning and Service Technician who is eager to support the initial stages of commissioning for VOW and Scanship projects. Key responsibilities include installing new software,performing I/O testing, and assisting the Automation Engineer with system start-ups. The role also involves participating in factory (FAT) and site acceptance (SAT) testing, providing E & A support for Scanship projects, and assisting with project development. When not on-site, the role will focus on analyzing claims to identify improvements in Scanship products and systems.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Conduct I/O testing for all VOW/Scanship PLC systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC faults.
- Participate in and support commissioning activities.
- Provide on-site technical support to shipyards and ship-owners.
- Assist with factory acceptance (FAT) and site acceptance (SAT) testing.
- Support technical requirements for project development, project execution, and procurement.
- Service and maintain marine equipment.
- Address warranty claims and assist in identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience with PLC programming and/or fault finding: 5 years of experience. (Automatiker, Mekatronikker)
- Trained and certified Ship Electrician with 5 years’ experience. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills in technical environments.
- Familiarity with PLC systems, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of safety protocols for electrical/electronic installations.
- Experience with acceptance testing (FAT, SAT) processes.
- Effective communication skills to provide on-site support and technical guidance.
