Are you passionate about using your engineering skills to innovate, create and solve? We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join us at Kongsberg Maritime here in Trondheim. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of KONGSBERGs sensors and systems onboard sailing ships and in shipyards. Additionally, you will offer in-house technical support and remote service to customers and colleagues around the world.
This position is within the Machinery Instrumentation and Condition Monitoring product range, which includes systems like Bearing Wear Condition Monitoring, Sentry®, MetaPower Quad, K-CMS, and numerous sensor applications for monitoring engines and rotating equipment. You will work closely with our product department on improvements and development. This role connects the mechanical, electrical, and digital aspects of vessel systems and engines.
Key Accountabilities:
· Installation and commissioning of Kongsberg Maritime's Machinery Instrumentation and Condition Monitoring sensors and systems.
· Provide service and maintenance onboard vessels and in onshore plants worldwide.
· Offer in-office technical support and remote services to customers and colleagues.
· Engage in product advancement, development, and sales support activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelors degree or equivalent technical education in electronics, instrumentation, automation, or telecommunication. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education.
· Mechanical or electromechanical know-how, particularly towards engines and rotating equipment.
· Good oral and written communication skills in English and Norwegian/Scandinavian are essential.
· Highly motivated for worldwide support activities (traveling is required).

Work location: Based in Trondheim, with work covering worldwide travel, our facility is located at Skonnertvegen 1, 7053 Ranheim, at the scenic Grilstad Marina.
