This is a complex leadership challenge, and now we are hiring a Managing Director that can execute on this for our Norwegian office.

About the role
As Managing Director of Rambøll Norway, you will lead a team of 1,650 dedicated professionals across 12 locations, delivering cutting-edge solutions within Buildings, Transport, Water, Environment & Health, Energy, and Management Consulting. You will play a key role in driving sustainable growth, enhancing collaboration across global and local teams, and ensuring Ramboll remains a trusted partner in solving complex client challenges. With sustainability at the heart of our purpose, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of a leading organization, fostering innovation and delivering impactful solutions that benefit people, communities, and the planet.
You will report to the Group COO responsible for Norway (Peter Heymann Andersen). Your primary focus will be on strategically developing and internationalizing the Norwegian business, while executing the current strategy and business plan. This includes setting and implementing strategies for profitable growth and operational excellence.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Driving business development and growth: Take a proactive role in strengthening key client account management, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding the organization's market presence. Lead cross-functional teams to collaborate, innovate, and meet client needs, driving top-line growth
- Establishing strategic direction: Define and implement a clear strategy that ensures profitable growth and long-term success
- Fostering strong relationships: Build and maintain trusted partnerships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams, to strengthen market positioning
- Enhancing market development: Identify and pursue opportunities in relevant markets and segments to expand the organization's impact and competitiveness
- Developing people and culture: Focus on organizational development by fostering future talent, promoting diversity, and creating a high-performance culture
- Delivering client solutions: Ensure success in the market by delivering innovative expertise and tailored solutions that exceed client expectations
- Optimizing global resources: Leverage global capabilities, such as the Engineering and Automation Centre in India, to enhance profitability, improve resource flexibility, and strengthen collaboration across region
What do we look for?When we evaluate candidates for this role, we will value the following:
- Proven success in business development and sales: Demonstrated ability to grow the top line through strategic client management, identifying new opportunities, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions tailored to client needs
- Senior management experience in the private and/or public sector
- Strategic leadership expertise, particularly in commercial consulting, project business, and organizational development
- A strong commercial mindset with a demonstrated ability to set strategic direction and deliver results
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and build consensus
- A value-driven leadership style that inspires, engages, and motivates teams
- High integrity and ethical standards, in alignment with Ramboll’s Fundamentals and Leadership Principles
- A robust commercial skill set with experience in similar global roles
- Relevant track record in engineering, architecture, or professional services, preferably in complex client markets
- Understanding of Norwegian market dynamics and client demands to identify new opportunities (and mitigate risks)
- Experience in effectively managing multiple stakeholders in complex scenarios
- Familiarity with the dynamics and complexity of a global matrix organization
