Come join our underwater mission!
Let us describe the challenge
At Water Linked, we design and build our sensors entirely in-house—every component is our own creation. This demands exceptional engineering across multiple disciplines and seamless collaboration. We never compromise on performance.
The world of underwater vehicles has gone through a huge transformation in recent years. The shift from large work-class vehicles to small, light, and agile vehicles has taken place largely driven by advancements in lithium battery technology. The miniturization of underwater vehicles happened fast. And none of the legacy sensor manufacturers were able to keep up. This gap in the market was what kickstarted Water Linked. However, miniaturizing a range of underwater acoustic sensors is no easy task. The challenge lies in creating sensors that can operate on vehicles with limited space, minimal power availability, and tight buoyancy constraints.
At Water Linked, we are constantly innovating to reduce power consumption, physical size, and weight. And we do all this without compromising on performance; our sensors are designed to deliver capabilities significantly superior to existing solutions on the market. Our approach is built on vertical integration. At Water Linked, we design and manufacture every component in-house. Electronics, transducers, mechanics, firmware, and signal processing is done within our own R&D department. This end-to-end control is key to disrupting the industry and staying ahead of the competition
At Water Linked, we are always on the lookout for exceptional talent to join our mission. If you are an experienced engineer with expertise in underwater technology, we invite you to become part of our groundbreaking journey.
What you'll do
As an engineer at Water Linked, you’ll play a vital role in driving innovation. You will be part of two distinct teams:
Expert Group: This team focuses on deepening technical expertise within your specific discipline—whether Electronics, Hardware, Signal Processing, or Software. Here, you’ll collaborate closely with other specialists to raise the level of knowledge and skills in your field and provide support to one another in solving discipline-specific challenges.
Project Group: This cross-disciplinary team works on specific product development projects. In this group, you’ll collaborate with colleagues from different expert areas, combining diverse perspectives and skills to tackle complex tasks and deliver cutting-edge underwater technology.
Your role spans both groups, allowing you to contribute specialized expertise to your expert group while actively participating in product development through your project group. At Water Linked, you’ll follow products from the initial idea all the way to shipping, ensuring your contributions have a direct impact on our groundbreaking sensors.
We are seeking Senior Engineers who
● Are driven by innovation and have a deep understanding of developing systems for underwater environments.
● Thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration, working closely with experts in signal processing, software, electronics, and hardware.
● Bring a level of expertise and seniority that enables us to elevate our capabilities in underwater technology and contribute to groundbreaking advancements.
If you have experience in related fields like signal processing, SLAM, cybernetics, sensor fusion, or hardware development, we’d love to hear from you.
Why join us?
With us, you will be granted the opportunity to excel in your chosen field, therefore we are organized into expert groups for knowledge sharing within your deep discipline.
We firmly believe that true innovation and exceptional problem-solving stem from being great at a deep discipline and possessing knowledge across various areas of expertise. That's why we have created our very own Water Linked Academy, designed to foster well-rounded skill development and encourage interdisciplinary understanding.
With us, you will be expected to take part in our journey - not just to tag along. It is therefore only natural that you are offered ownership through stock options, which is a risk-free way to take part in the company's financial growth.
Your primary workplace will be situated in our contemporary offices at Nyhavna in Trondheim, which boasts exceptional lab facilities and is conveniently accessible by car, bus, and bicycle.
In the video below we lift the veil on how we see the future of Water Linked and how we're moving towards full spatial awareness.
